Install OpenOffice 3.0 on debian based distro
linux, percobaan Nopember 18th, 2008Firstly, why I have to upgrade my OpenOffice (later called OO) 2.x to 3.0 ?? The answer is, it’s because OO 3.0 has so many features, you can see a brief in here.
Ok, begin the installation. Firstly, download the OpenOffice in deb (OOo_3.0.0_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz) in your favorite mirror. After the download has finish extract it. To ease the instalation we can build the Packages.gz by typing dpkg-scanpackages binary-dir /dev/null | gzip -9c > Packages.gz inside the DEBS directory you extract the OpenOffice archive. After that add this to the sources.list
deb file:///archive/location/3.0.0/OOO300_m9_native_packed/DEBS/ ./
or in synaptic
URl : file:///archive/location/3.0.0/OOO300_m9_native_packed/DEBS/
Distribution : ./
Section(s) : (leave blank)
After that you can run apt-get update or reload on synaptic. Now you can install OpenOffice easily using synaptic. Don’t forget to install the menu integration. Special for debian install the openoffice.org-debian-menus no matter you use the gnome or KDE.
Have a nice trying

yang paling kerasa perbedaannya sih waktu prosesnya lebih cepet. Iya sampe ada genteng yang terbang
